Southern Storyteller, Award-Winning Teacher, Inspiring Speaker on Adaptations to Change

"Patsy’s program kicked off our Lifestyle Changes Initiative. She made us laugh long and hard while also providing content to help the audience understand lifestyle changes.  We'd hire her back in a heartbeat!
”
 Shirlye Pirkle, Celebrate Spring Retreat

Patsy is a favorite speaker for corporate retreats, association conferences, senior centers, churches, Vanderbilt University along with other educational groups.

Patsy is a "real find" for our center in terms of storytelling an d message. Our senior patrons return again and again to remember the Tennessee they knew growing up. I often hear comments about her 'word pictures' and how touch they were by the themes found in her stories. She is genuine through and through and honors her heritage with stories that are remembered long after her program ends. She really does bring hope, laughter and understanding to her audiences.
Bob Kucher, Senior Director of Fine Arts, The Renaissance Center

Navigating Change at Work and Within Your Organization-
Looking for a way to help your company, work unit, or association navigate its way through technology changes, changed job descriptions, new personnel, and added responsibilities? Your answer can be found in Patsy's humorous and problem solving seminar "Change According to Mama and Aunt Ruby." This entertaining presentation will have your group ready to:
  • Understand how change works
  • Focus on mentally health ways to adapt to change
  • Diffuse anger and resentment to change
  • Manage their fears of change
  • See themselves as benefactors of change as opposed to victims
Patsy is an award winning college instructor with extensive training in psychology, therapy, and professional storytelling. She brings results with a flare of entertainment and honesty.

Amountin’ to Somethin - Through Patsy's experience as a child of Appalachia, this presentation centers on the personal qualities needed to find your place in a larger world.  Patsy outlines the three steps of getting good dirt, conquering fears, and becoming real in order to extend yourself into a life that is larger than anything you've ever known before.  Audiences hearing this keynote will:
  • become inspired to grow
  • challenge old beliefs about themselves
  • discover the importance of good support systems in their lives
  • improve their self-esteem
  • learn the value of maturity
  • acknowledge the gifts of their roots
  • look at how to tie one's past to the present
  • have more real connections to workers and family

Story Sampler: A collection of two-three stories specifically designed for the event at hand.  The focus for this program is more storytelling without additional comments or focused comments for a special occasion such as a wedding or family gathering.

Blues and News- Patsy’s newest program with acoustic guitarist Hunter Carmen is "Blues and News." This entertaining 60 minute program combines great blues guitar, vocals, and harmonica with storytelling to create a must see event of songs and stories.

Adams Place Assisted Living says, "I loved it!"  "They were wonderful!"  "Thank you for having them!"

Blues and News provides the best of both music, humor, small town folks, trying to make it through life's difficult moments with dignity and humor.
